Rubia Homa Perfumer
A perfumer is trained in the art of fragrance creation, blending a variety of scented materials to create perfumes in many forms to be used in candles, fine fragrances, oils, and cosmetic products. Like an artist painting a canvas, a perfumer uses their skills and knowledge to create fragrances that are unique and memorable.
Rubia Homa, perfumer and lifelong fragrance enthusiast, originally from Canada, started her ‘nose’ journey at a young age exploring her mother’s fragrance collection containing a beautiful mix of designer and traditional perfumes, found throughout the world.
Rubia received her formal fragrance making education in Los Angeles at the Institute for Art and Olfaction (IAO). From 2019 to 2023, Rubia was appointed Board Member at the IAO and also participated as a Judge for the Art and Olfaction Awards (2019-2023). As an Independent Perfumer, Rubia has worked on a variety of projects, partnering with brands and organizations to create olfactive experiences, such as being commissioned by the IAO and Dublab to create a unique fragrance to commemorate Prince’s Purple Rain. In 2025, Rubia officially launched her fragrance brand Huro, which is currently available in Los Angeles.
